Matt & Hilary - Up close and Personal

Matt and Hilary recently packed their bags and made the big move to Marriedville, USA. Here's a quick video of our two love birds. For some reason the audio was cutting out on the DVD at the reception - sorry 'bout that!

(From Mike and Laura's Blog)- Mike is officially done with medical school, tests, classes, DONE! (He's been done for 2 weeks!) It still doesn't seem real. Maybe it will hit me once he graduates. For now Mike is enjoying his time off before real life hits come mid June. I could go on and on about how wonderful he is and all that he has accomplished but I will spare you the details. I just wanted to give Mike a shout out and tell him how proud I am of him! 9 years in the making...totally worth it!

Exciting/Sad news

The results are in and we'll be moving back to Arizona in August. It'll be fun to be back, but we'll miss you guys terribly. Our only solace (sniff, sniff) is that we're also planning on living in Utah from May to August each year so Mike can do his dissertation research and we can avoid the Tucson summers. What a perfect set-up!! Make sure you all plan a trip to AZ this next year to come and stay with us!

Mark your calendars. We are hosting a party for Matt & Hilary. It will be on Saturday May 17th at 4:00. It will be at Ben & Megan's house. We will have a grill, so bring some meat and something to share. There will be friends, food, fun and a whole lot more. We can compete at Horse shoes, Boccie, and Croquet. You don't want to miss it. This is Matt and I have been wanting to post this for a long time, But I was hoping to post it with an appropriate picture. Well, I am getting married! It's true. I know you don't believe me. Save the date for June 7th. 06/07/08. I am going to marry my Fiance' Hilary Caldwell. She went to Cottonwood High School and Is graduating from Utah State this coming December in Elementary Education. We have been dating since January and have actually been engaged for just over a month now. She is very excited to get to know all of you. For those of you who were in St. George For Wesley Brock's baby blessing , you have already had the opportunity to get to know her a little bit. I love you guys and hope to see you all at the Reception.

A blessing put on hold . . .

It looks like we're not supposed to have this sweet baby after all. As difficult as it is to put off our dreams of being parents to another little baby and of making Tanner a big brother, we have been really blessed with a feeling that everything is ok.

We've also been blessed because:
. . . Tanner has received double the hugs and kisses as we are sooo grateful to have a healthy and beautiful child.
. . . we've been reminded of all the wonderful people God has put in our path to love and support us.
. . . the love we feel for our family seems to have increased ten-fold. We are so blessed to have a family!!
. . . this sweet spirit didn't have to experience the trials of life in an imperfect body.
. . . I get a sucker every time I get my blood drawn :)

We have been so blessed in our lives and can't begin to express our gratitude for the wonderful family we have, the incredible friends in our life, and the strength and comfort we find in our Savior.

Hey everybody! For the past several months we have been in the process of obtaining a residency position in internal medicine. The months of applications and interviews came to a long awaited conclusion yesterday with "match day". This is the day when all 4th year medical students across the country find out where they have "matched" for residency training. It has been a long complicated and expensive process but it has been worth the effort. We are very happy with the results and will be spending at least the next three years in....

We are very excited to be coming home and to be close to family and friends. Our time in Chicago has been a wonderful experience and we will miss this amazing city, but as the story goes "there is no place like home."

El Caribe...

Michael and I just got back from 12 days in the Caribbean. We went to Puerto Rico for 5 days and then headed off on a 7-day cruise to the Southern Caribbean. It was absolutely amazing and we saw so many beautiful places. Michael ended up being the most popular guy on the ship (big surprise!) after playing the piano in the main dinning room, winning the kayaking contest, blowing everyone away at karaoke, and being crowned "Mr. Serenade of the Seas" in a male beauty contest! I just thought I would let everybody know that Todd just e-mailed me. He and Lindsay are expecting their second baby. They just had an ultrasound done and they are having a girl. I am going to add Todd to our list of friends on the blog. Hope everyone is doing well. Also on a side note, Bryce C. Raven left last night just after midnight for a ten day trip through Costa Rica and Nicaragua. He went with his sister Nat and some of our friends from or old ward. Matt

Sorry we missed New Years!!

Hey Guys, This blog thing is kind-of a new thing in our world but I'm totally loving it. What a great way to stay in touch. We want to add our thanks again for the wonderful Christmas party at Nick's!!! Our girls really can't stop talking about it. And nick they still want to take you up on your offer to have them over to color in the new coloring books. We're sorry we missed the new years party. We had the opportunity to stay over at Chris' brothers cabin and play in the snow. We miss you all and can't wait to have you all out to our house, if I could ever get Chris to stop playing and stay home a minute to finish some honey do's. Hint, Hint, really big Hint Chris!!
